Not All Ingredients Are Created Equal

Emaya’s Commitment To Purity

At Emaya we use rare turmeric varieties to ensure great taste and high curcumin content for maximum health benefits and enjoyment. Unlike common turmeric which contains only 1% curcumin, we use certified organic pesticide-free Lakadong turmeric - from the stunningly beautiful remote area of Meghalaya, ‘abode of the clouds!’ It contains an average of 8 to 12% curcumin making it the turmeric of choice in Ayurvedic medicine due to its potent natural anti-inflammatory effect. Coconut and long pepper are added to our blends to increase the bioavailability of the turmeric by up to 2000 times.

Quality Ingredients

This quality of ingredients makes all the difference to our products and means you need only take 1 teaspoon a day to benefit from the well-known health benefits of turmeric, thus less is more. To get the same level of curcumin from common Madras turmeric; you would need to consume 2 to 3 tablespoons of Madras turmeric per day.

Most ingredients in the UK, including organic ingredients, contain heavy metals within EU guidelines. These heavy metals can accumulate in the body over time and can be the cause of inflammation. Emaya Pure Life uses suppliers that can show government lab certificates showing zero pesticide residue, GMO-Free, and low impurities such as heavy metals.

We always seek out the purest and freshest ingredients at the time of production. We aim to use certified organic ingredients wherever possible, however, we also use ingredients grown in remote areas away from busy roads that are often traditionally farmed and grown without the use of pesticides. Although these ingredients are non-GMO and ‘organic’ and can often be purer than certified organic ingredients, the cost for small farmers to become certified organic is often too high to make it viable. We aim to support small traditional growers to maintain their knowledge of traditional farming techniques and to promote the growth of pure ingredients for all future generations.

Turmeric: Many studies show some turmeric from the Bangladesh area to contain high lead content. This is because of the high levels of lead in the local environment and also because lead is added by middlemen to make it a rich deeper colour mimicking high-quality varieties that can then be sold at a higher price. Generally, Indian turmeric is a stronger colour, with higher quality and higher curcumin content. On occasion, high lead content has even found its way into certified organic produce and many supplements. Because of this Emaya Pure Life was born - we do not wish to take lead into our bodies and thus the search for pure turmeric began. Our turmeric is checked for heavy metals and other impurities and it is always the superior quality that is chosen, often much better than the EU guidelines. We believe it is important to find the highest purity available for an ingredient that is taken daily due to its potent anti-inflammatory properties.

Moringa: Our certified organic moringa is so fresh and so full of electrolytes that it stands up on the spoon! Moringa is known as ’the miracle tree’ because of its potent anti-inflammatory properties and also because of its high nutritional content. It is the most nutrient-dense plant known to man, containing over 92 nutritional values. Every part of the tree can be used for its medicinal and nutritional qualities including the roots, bark, leaf, fruit, and flowers. In our search for purity, we have found a pure unadulterated moringa leaf powder, certified organic with naturally high protein content.

Long Pepper: We use organically grown long pepper otherwise known as Pipalli because it increases bio availability and has a unique gift of boosting the potency of other herbs and spices when taken together. We know that black pepper makes turmeric's anti-inflammatory qualities more easily assimilated in the system, but long pepper takes it up a notch. For sensitive tummies, long pepper is excellent for digestion and better to use than black pepper. As well as the many health benefits shared with black pepper it is also an excellent tonic for the respiratory system. Not only does it restore lung tissue, it detoxifies accumulations in the lungs and relieves asthma. The exquisite floral taste adds a dimension to all the Emaya turmeric blends which we believe to have been a key factor in winning our 2 Great Taste awards. We grind the long pepper ourselves before it goes into each blend to maintain the freshness, flavour, and potent well-being effects.

Coconut Milk Powder: Pure coconut milk powder is rich in lauric acid, phosphorus, calcium, and medium-chain fatty acids - the building blocks of life. Lauric acid has both anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties and is found in human breast milk. Most non-organic & organic coconut milk powder contains cheap ingredients such as added maltodextrin, sugar, and agave plus other impurities such as cheap bulking agents. Our coconut milk powder is 100% pure and without maltodextrin.

We hope you enjoy our blends as much as we enjoy bringing them to you. They are delicious in hot water, with honey or milk, porridge, muesli, yoghourt, coffee, smoothies, and even in soup, cakes, flapjacks, or on toast.

They can be devoured in many ways.
Enjoy!
